I have a testimony on Ortho Sport, Animal Scents Ointment, Melissa Floral water. You know how horse like to pick on others. Well someone had ran our colt through a barb wire fence and she cut her leg from side to side wide open just above the knee. This had happened during the night so when we found her it was late next morning. We caught her and I had added 30 drops Melrose, 30 drops lavender in the Melissa Floral water and we sprayed her knee real good with that to clean out the dirt and grass. Then Ortho sport and Animal Scents Ointment last. This worked so fast because the next day you could see the difference. She started to get a little infection in the wound about the 3 day, but we increase the times of putting the oils on and it cleared up. Without them there would have been a lot of infection and antibiotics to clear it up and it would have taken a long time.
Where she was cut it there no place to drain but down the leg so it did take a little longer to heal but it really looks good today.
I have seen Ortho Sport close an infected wound on one of our horses over night. He had cut his foot on the back just above the hoof and when we realize something was wrong he was limping so bad we thought that he had been kicked real hard . We got him in the corral and I poured Ortho Sport all over the wound and foot and left him in the corral. The next morning I took some more oils down to apply and I saw he was walking around with out a limp. Caught him and his wound was closed over and the infection gone. I still have to shake my head to believe what it did just over night. So don't just set Ortho Sport aside. It is great to use for any time of pain and infection.
Ortho Sport:
Is an anti-inflammatory and pain-killing complex of vegetable and essential oils. Ideal for strained swollen or torn muscles, and ligaments. It has a higher phenol content the Ortho Ease and produces a greater warming sensation.
Vegetable Oils:

Wheatgerm Oil:
Is rich in lecithin, vitamin E and B. Protects the skin from free radical damage. Moisturizing and noncomedogenic.
Grape Seed Oil:
Is light-textured, odorless, and nourishing to the skin.
Olive Oil:
Is rich in cell-protecting phyto-nutrients and antioxidants like squalene.
Almond Oil;
Is high in vitamin E and phytonutrients. Highly nourishing to the skin. It protects cell membranes from oxidative damage.
Essential Oil:
Wintergreen:
contains a cortisone-like compound that combats pain from sore bones, muscles, and joints.
Oregano:
Is high in carvacrol, a potent anti-inflammatory.
Marjoram:
Reduces pain and inflammation in sore muscles, antiseptic.
Red Thyme:
Is powerfully antiviral, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. It is also rubefacient or warming to the skin.
Peppermint:
Cooling and invigorating, it blocks pain and itching, (Goble et al..1996). Antifungal and antibacterial.
Eucalyptus:
Is a powerful antimicrobial agent, rich in Eucalyptol (a key ingredient in many antiseptic mouth rinses). It also repels insects.
Lemongrass:
Has a pain-killing and antifungal action.
Vetiver:
Is an anti-inflammatory that soothes joint and muscle pain.
Elemi:
Used in Europe for hundreds for years in salves for skin and celebrated healing ointments. Elemi Belongs to the same botanical family as
Frankincense and Myrrh. Antiseptic and antimicrobial, it is widely regarded today for soothing sore muscles, protecting skin and stimulating nerves.
Now you can see why it works the way it does from that action that is in the oils listed along with the vegetable oils.
Have a Great Day,
Nancy Sanderson
